From representing Great Britain in the 100m hurdle in Napoli at the 2019 Summer Universiade to last year’s European Athletics Championships in Munich, Jessica Hunter is a force to be reckoned with. Getting into athletics at the age of thirteen and with more than a decade’s worth of experience, Jessica demonstrates a passion for athletics and her dedication to growth in female sport.

MARIELLA SANTUCCI

Enthralled by the world of basketball at the age of four whilst watching her sister practice, Mariella Santucci’s career path in the sport was set the moment she interrupted and grabbed the ball. A big personality with the talent to match and having been with the Toledo Rockets for four seasons, the Bolognese basketballer acknowledges the doubts she faced before becoming a professional player and how social media has changed perceptions of women in sport.

SHANI BRU

Tired of being a spectator with friends as they practiced, she picked up a skateboard and gave it a shot. Practice led to progress and progress in turn became a passion, soon the skate park became a second home, and it did not hurt that she could now challenge her friends and prove her capability in her new-found love and turn her passion into a profession.

At just the age of ten, Marta García was adamant on the career she wanted for herself. A lover of cars and speed, the world of motor racing was one she was fascinated by and drawn to. Who would have thought a karting circuit would become the foundation for a stellar athlete?
